The PMI Project is ambitious and covers many aspects.

In order to provide a comprehensive and integrated solution, MFI has surrounded itself by several partners  selected for the relevance and the quality of their services / equipment.



MFI is a subsidiary of Météo-France, the French National Meteorological Service. As such, MFI has the possibility to call on to the expertise of its mother company to provide INAMET with exclusive services in terms of meteorological expertise, training and data flows.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: experts from Météo-France (forecasters, climatologists) will assist MFI in the implementation of INAMET's forecasting & production process. They will also ensure many trainings in the fields of forecasting, tropical / aeronautical meteorology, crisis management and public weather services. Lastly Météo-France, will provide INAMET with customized data flows such as Arpege, dedicated Arome, MFWAM, etc.
 


 
IPMA (Instituto Português do Mar et da Atmosfera) is the Portuguese National Meteorological Service. Portugal has a long history with Angola and a common language. Therefore, MFI has settled a collaboration agreement with IPMA in order to jointly serve INAMET.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: IPMA will ensure specialized training sessions in Portuguese on specific themes such as "Increasing skills in forecasting through optimum use of NWP products for atmospheric and marine forecasts", "Statistics applied to climatology” or others to be defined. It will also provide customized consultancy and translation services. Lastly, IPMA will export the digital climate data base (climatological data over Angola before 1975) it is currently hosting.


 
Expert in storm monitoring and lightning risk prevention, Météorage offers turnkey lightning detection network services to weather services or network operators.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: Météorage is in charge of providing a ligthning detection network composed of 5 sensors with associated central processor (CATS), data collection and visualization system. the objective is to ensure real-time detection of lightning activity in Luanda.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: DEGREANE Horizon is in charge of providing 8 Aviation Weather Observation Systems (AWOS) in order to strengthen Angola's aeronautical observation network for improved forecasts and pilot briefings.
 

 
 
 
Sagim is specialized in the manufacturing of hydrogen production units and has become a leader in the field of hydrogen production for meteorological uses.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: Sagim is in charge of providing all the necessary equipment for hydrogen production for the needs of atmospheric observation. Three sites will be fully equipped during the project.
 

 
 
Meteomodem is specialized the field of upper-air observation, and more specifically radiosounding. Meteomodem is one of the top leading radiosonde manufacturers in the world and provides its equipment to NMS's in many countries.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: Meteomodem is in charge of providing 3 robotsonde units (automatic radio-sounding ground station). This equipment will enable INAMET to perform upper-air measurements.
 

 
 
Sterela is specialized in the design and manufacturing of meteorological stations for surface observation. Sterela provides turnkey solutions for weather-data acquisition, communication and exploitation systems.

Scope of intervention on the PMI Project: Sterela is in charge of providing 32 Automatic Weather Stations, 10 agro / mesoscale Automatic Weather Stations, and 10 hydrological Automatic Weather Stations.
